This listing is for 6 yards of bespoke silk ribbon in a choice of three widths. The narrower widths are also available as a bespoke option though only in addition to ordering a wider width.
There is also an option to order a 2 yard lenght of 1.5 inch width custom ribbon, though the most cost-effective way to ensure a colour match to your flowers, bridesmaids dresses, stationery , mood board etc, is to send me a swatch beforehand so I can advise if one of the standard shades I offer in my Etsy store would be a close match (so less expense for you!) or if I can tweak an existing shade at no extra cost, or indeed if a custom shade is necessary .
Please contact me prior to placing an order so that I can discuss your custom request. I can sometimes work from images or links though it may be necessary to send me a swatch for reference. This does not need to be a fabric swatch, a paint card from B&Q will suffice!
Although I endeavour to achieve as close a colour match as possible ,I can not guarantee an identical match due to differences between the silk and the swatch for example -absorbency, finish, fabric composition etc.
The ribbon is 100% silk and is bias cut which gives it a nice body or stretch. Over time the cut edges will fray naturally. There is a seam every two to three yards and the raw unfinished edges will naturally soften with wear. The seams are finished with silk thread and just a 1/8" overlap to help create a seamless appearance throughout the spools.
Depending on the shade requested the ribbon will be colourfast in cold water and potentially also colourfast in warm water. if you do decide to wash please note that you should only use a pH neutral detergent on these ribbons and only if necessary .
As the silk is a wholly natural and organic product and is all hand-dyed there may be some unavoidable shrinkage of the fibres during the dyeing process. Measurements stated in the listing are taken before the dyeing process.
Ribbons can be ironed on a warm/medium hot temperature.
As the ribbons are hand-dyed there may be marbling and slight colour variations along the lengths.
I send all my ribbon first class signed for in the UK and tracked and traced elsewhere where available.
Please note the turnaround times vary during the year.
